Complete GST Architecture for Gems & Jewellery
HSN Code on Every Line
Each invoice line carries its HSN code — 7113 for articles of jewellery — stored with the stock product so staff don't retype it.
Statutory 3% Tax Split
3% GST on jewellery is split automatically into 1.5% CGST and 1.5% SGST on every invoice.
Composite Supply Making Charges
When making charges are billed on the retail invoice alongside gold jewellery, they are correctly bundled under the 3% composite supply rate.
Customer KYC and GSTIN
Capture the customer's Aadhaar on the bill, and their GSTIN when selling to a registered business.
Discount and Round-Off
Apply a bill discount and round-off; GST is recalculated on the amount after discount.
GST Reports with CSV Export
See total taxable value, CGST and SGST collected for a date range, and export the data to CSV for your accountant.

Questions About Jewellery GST Invoicing
Gold jewellery is taxed at a composite rate of 3% GST under HSN 7113. For sales within the same state (e.g., within Tamil Nadu), this is divided equally into 1.5% CGST (Central GST) and 1.5% SGST (State GST). For sales to another state, 3% IGST (Integrated GST) applies instead. Jexo invoices currently apply the CGST + SGST split used for sales within the state.
When a jewellery retailer sells a finished ornament and items making charges on the invoice, the entire transaction is classified as a composite supply of gold jewellery and taxed at 3%. If making charges were billed independently by an outsourced job worker, job work GST at 5% (HSN 9988) would apply between the job worker and the retailer.
Yes. Counter staff can apply a discount on the bill. Jexo recalculates the taxable value, adjusts CGST and SGST to the paisa, and applies a round-off to the final amount.
